ESA conference Naples 2024

The 15th conference of the European Society for Aesthetics took place on 6-8 June, 2024 in Naples, Italy.
The conference was co-organised by the ESA and the Università di Napoli “L’Orientale”. The conference venue was Palazzo del Mediterraneo, Via Marina, Napoli, Italy.

The confirmed keynote speakers were:

CONFERENCE VENUE

The conference took place at the University of Naples ‘L’Orientale’, in Palazzo Mediterraneo via Marina 56, Napoli. Naples, Italy.

The main room (1.1) for the event is located on the 1st floor of Palazzo Mediterraneo.

Palazzo Mediterraneo is in the center of Naples, and from there, it is very easy to reach the most beautiful areas of the historical center of the town, such as Spaccanapoli, San Gregorio Armeno, Piazza del Gesù, via Roma and Piazza Plebiscito.

How to get to the conference venue:

From Naples Airport – Capodichino (Aeroporto Internazionale di Napoli)
Alibus (https://www.anm.it/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1314)
It takes approximately 19 minutes to Napoli Centrale in front of the train station.

From the train station Napoli Centrale:
It takes approximately 20 minutes from the train station Napoli Centrale to Palazzo del Mediterraneo.
By underground railway: Metro Linea 1 to Piscinola – Università or Duomo stop.

How to get by car:
1. From A1/E45 Take the exit toward Napoli Centro/Porto.
2. Merge onto A3.
3. Take the exit toward Centro.
4. Continue on Via Reggia di Portici.
5. Take Via Amerigo Vespucci to Via Nuova Marina.

Travelling inside the city:

Public transport tickets can be purchased in every metro station or in ‘Tabacchi’ shops around the city.

Buses suffer for frequent traffic jam in the center of the city; better to more around on foot or by metro (line 1) – metro  stations present very interesting installations by contemporary artists (Pistoletto, Kentridge etc).

Please note that although card payment is already the most widespread way of payment, you could bring with you some cash just to pay for coffee.

There are also pizzerias (or similar) which give you first a simple handwritten list of the plates and drinks you took, and then the receipt but only if you ask for it. It’s always better to ask about card payment and receipts before you start ordering.
